Heartstrong Counseling’s Whole Child Nutrition Services
New services that attend to the complex systems that culminate in food preferences, eating behaviors, and mealtime experiences.
Whole Child Nutrition Support Options
We wanted to create services that attend to the complexity of childhood, and parenting, and present them to families with as little stress and commitment as possible, while still making them deeply meaningful and engaging.
When children struggle with eating, nutrition, growth, or mealtimes, there is often much more beneath the surface and we hope to relieve the confusion, the complexity, and the stress and frustration whether you choose a private consultation or small group workshops.
Heartstrong Counseling's Whole Child Nutrition Support combines expertise in child development, family systems, mental health, and nutrition science to help families better understand their child's unique needs.
Our consultations and workshops are meant to support families who encounter:
Selective eating
Mealtime power struggles
ADHD, autism, PDA, or sensory differences
Youth sports nutrition and fueling mindset
Food-related anxiety
Allergies and medically-necessary diets
Growth and nutrition concerns
Family meal stress
Building healthy lifelong eating habits
And, most importantly, we want families to leave with:
A deeper understanding of their child
Practical, evidence-based strategies (and delicious ideas)
Clear next steps
Less stress around food and mealtimes
Greater confidence in supporting their child's health and development
-
These consultations combine my expertise as a child and family therapist with advanced training and Master’s Degree in nutrition science to help parents better understand the "why" behind their child's eating patterns, food preferences, nutrition concerns, and mealtime behaviors.
Together, we take a comprehensive look at your child's:
Eating habits and food preferences
Growth and nutrition concerns
Sensory needs
Emotional regulation
Anxiety and stress
ADHD, autism, or other neurodevelopmental differences
Family mealtime dynamics
Physical activity and athletic needs
Medical history and dietary restrictions
Sleep, routines, and daily functioning
The goal of these sessions is to answer questions, engage in a meaningful analysis of your child to gain clarity and action steps, and provide information that will allow you to approach your child’s nutrition, and their overall development, with confidence and practice strategies.
